The Prime Minister confirmed the effective completion of the Idini hydraulic project, located in the Trarza region. This achievement, which marks a turning point for the management of water resources in the area, was finalized two months ahead of the schedule initially established in the contract. The central objective of this infrastructure is to meet Nouakchott's growing needs for drinking water. Thanks to this strengthening of the network, the authorities hope to sustainably improve the availability of this vital resource for the urban population. While access to water remains a constant logistical challenge for the large metropolises of the region, this early delivery is presented by the government as an operational success. The authorities are now focusing on the optimal operation of these new facilities. While the completion of the work has been confirmed, questions remain about the technical modalities of final connection and the total production capacity that will actually be injected into Nouakchott's daily distribution network.
